Samaritans’ vision is that few people die by suicide. Samaritans offer confidential, emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress and despair, including feelings which may lead a person to take their own life. Samaritans offer people the time and space to work out their own way forward without judging or giving advice.
The Samaritans have been in Ennis on the Kilrush Road for 36 years. Last year the Ennis branch received over 41,000 contacts, some of whom expressed suicidal feelings and nationally a total of 630,000 calls were answered by The Samaritans.
The Samaritans Freephone number 116123 and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, volunteers offer face to face emotional support to visitors to the branch and provide support through our email service at firstname.lastname@example.org. and the texting (SMS) service at 087 260 9090. The Ennis branch is open every day 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
